Junior Kicks (6 - 12 yrs old)

Intended for more mature children and young adults, the Junior Kicks curriculum focuses on improving the students self-esteem and fostering leadership skills. For students "graduating" from the Team Turtle Program, Junior Kicks builds on skills already learned.

New students will find that Junior Kicks challenges their physical capabilities with increasingly difficult techniques as they progress in rank. Mental development occurs as students are expected to string together sequences and learn to react to commands given in Korean, the original language of Tang Soo Do.

The Junior Kicks Curriculum consists of developing several major skills that are necessary for participation in any sport or activity…but more importantly, in life:

Focus: This skill will help to develop your child's aim, ability to listen and react quickly to challenges and tasks.

Teamwork: Your child will develop the abilities to make new friends, lead a group, listen to other people’s ideas, and bring out the best in others.

Self Control: Having control means making good decisions. Control also builds confidence.

Balance: Your child will develop good balance and better posture.

Memory: Developing a good memory is exercise for your child's brain. Our drills are constantly helping your child think and make smart decisions.

Discipline: Our instructors use the Team Turtle drills to help create the vision that discipline is fun and rewarding. Your child will take pride in doing the right thing. Your child will also follow directions better.

Fitness: When children can understand the importance of being healthy and embrace exercise, they can burn off all that excess energy!

Coordination: The better coordination your child has, the better they will perform everyday tasks and the fewer injuries your child will sustain.
