A Note of Thanks 04/30/2010
When I first started my training a little over a year ago I felt an immediate satisfaction, but Tang Soo Do has grown into a very deep passion of mine. There isn’t an aspect of my training that I don’t enjoy and look forward to every training session, no matter how worn out I might be from the rigors of my work. I tend to be quiet when I step into our Dojang (a place of great reverence for me); I come in with focus and with a sense of purpose. I place high expectations on myself, in that I want to work and grow to be the best that I can be. I’m kind of an “All In or Nothing” kind of guy, and I give it everything I have when I step onto the floor. It is a goal of mine to ultimately become the best product that comes out our Dojang. Blake and I have always been extraordinarily close and we do a lot together, but our Tang Soo Do training has added such richness to our lives. I have benefited tremendously in various areas of my life, from my work, my desire to still be competitive, and on and on. I am a leader and mentor in my work, and I was taught many years ago that “in order to be an exceptional leader, you must first learn to exceptionally follow.” I enjoy following your instruction. It benefits my leadership capabilities and strengthens my Servant-Leadership philosophy. I simply wish to say ‘Thank You’ to you, Mike and Matt for your instruction, patience, and the direct/indirect ways you contribute to my pursuit of excellence in all that I do. I have a very busy life, and sometimes measure my days in minutes, but I was compelled to share my appreciation. Many, many thanks. Tang Soo!
